Vest Measurement Form

Vests are made with a small toggle in the back of the garment to cinch the vest in for a snug fit on the dancer and to allow room for growth. Vest closure is on the side.

***For all measurements leave a ribbon tied around the waist or use a piece of masking tape to identify where the waist is. Please wear dance pants for measurements.

1. Chest*

Wrap the tape measure under your armpits, around the fullest part of your chest.
2. Waist measurement*

Use the tape to circle your waist (sort of like a belt would) at your natural waistline, which is located above your belly button and below your rib cage. (If you bend to the side, the crease that forms is your natural waistline.) Don't suck in your stomach, or you'll get a false measurement.
3. Drop waist*

The drop waist is where the bottom of the vest is going to fall. The drop waist falls approximately 1-3 inches above the hip line. Use a piece of tape to mark the drop waist and use the measuring tape to circle around the drop waist location.
4. Shoulder to Shoulder Front*

Take this measurement from sleeve seam to sleeve seam across the chest
5. Shoulder to Shoulder back*

Measure from the shoulder to shoulder above the armpits across the dancer's back
6. Top of Shoulder to waist*

Measure from the top of the shoulder down to your waist line. (Remember, the waist always falls above the dancer's belly button.)
7. Top of Shoulder to Vest length*

Measure from the top of the shoulder at the base of the neck down to the desired length of the vest. (Measure from the shoulder down to where you took the drop waist measurement)

8. Waist to hip*

Measure from the waist down to the fullest part of the hips. The hip measurement falls between 1-3" below the drop waist measurement.
